2025 Puanga Talk Series with Āwhina Twomey

The Puanga 2025 talk series Te Haa o Hine Ahu One introduces a wonderfully diverse group of wahine Māori from our local iwi. Each one a leader and teacher in their own right, they share their experience and insight over a range of subjects that affect our lives.

In the second talk of the series Alexander Library welcomes Āwhina Twomey (Ngāti Hinemanu | Ngāti Raukawa | Ngāti Tūwharetoa| Ngāti Maniapoto | Ngāti Kuia) to give her talk titled Puanga: Honouring Our Ancestors.

Āwhina Twomey is an inspiring educator in Mātauranga Māori - a long term champion of the use of te reo Māori, Āwhina has been celebrating Matariki for over 25 years.
